How Font Box Works for You
Font Box performs a variety of housecleaning chores and runs a variety of technical checks to ensure your font library is ready when you need it.
When you run Font Box, it does all this for you:
• Locates all your fonts
• Analyzes their integrity
• Repairs fonts automatically
• Improves system stability
• Eliminates font-related crashes and lock-ups
• Stops inconsistent and jagged printing
• Builds a new, clean font library
• Saves disk space and memory
Font Box should be part of your system’s regular maintenance and preventive care. Font Box saves you time wasted searching for lost fonts, fixing font substitution problems, and chasing down output-related issues.
Using This Manual
You should read ‘Using this manual’ to take advantage of the blue underlined hyperlinks to jump to a particular topic. If you haven’t installed HyperBox, open the file ‘Using the Font Box Manual’ to use the hyperlinks.

Avoiding Conflicts
You should take a couple of Precautions before starting the Analysis to avoid any potential problems:
• restart with Extensions off
• run Norton Disk Doctor, MacTools, or Disk First Aid and fix any directory damage

Running Font Box
Font Box’s settings are organized into two windows:
Analyze Old Fonts - select the fonts to analyze and specify the tests to perform
Create Font Box Library - select how to organize the new font library and where to put your old fonts
After pressing the ‘Continue’ button in the Create Font Box Library window, Font Box scans the hard drive(s), performs the individual analysis tests, and displays the result of each test in a window. Each test result is covered in the ‘Fixing Detected Problems’ section.
Reporting
Font Box’s reporting features can generate an inventory of your old fonts, a list of all the problems, and an inventory after creating your new fonts. Each inventory can be sorted by your fonts’ location or alphabetically by each font’s name.

Registering
The Evaluation Edition analyzes your fonts and reports the results but does not fix the problems. See this section to register Font Box and have it automatically fix all the reported problems.

Use of Font Box is governed by the license printed on the envelope containing your original media.The Font Box source code is a confidential trade secret of Insider. You may not attempt to decipher or decompile Font Box or develop source code for Font Box, or knowingly allow others to do so. You may not develop passwords or codes or otherwise enable the program for equipment or users that are not authorized for use with Font Box. Font Box and its documentation may not be sublicensed and may not be transferred without the prior written consent of Insider.
Only you and your employees and consultants who have agreed to the above restrictions may use Font Box and only on the authorized equipment.
Your right to copy Font Box and this manual is limited by copyright law.
